Case 77: Laparoscopic technique

Insertion, under vision, of the 5 mm Nathanson liver retractor.

2.What are the risks associated with the use of this instrument?

Difficult insertion, liver trauma (haematoma, laceration, infarction), other visceral injury - esp myocardial injury if the diaphragm is penetrated
